All Things Rum

Adam Kanter (owner and mixologist of Rum Bar) is bringing in Paul Francis Yellin (chef, rum expert) for something they’re calling Rum Fusion. There are two separate menus seating at two different times on Wednesday, August 18th; the concept is fancy rum and Carribean food. The pairings include Sugar Cane Speared Drunken Chicken with Watermelon Sunset featuring Ron Zacapa and Paupiette of Jerk Red Snapper Baked in Phyllo Pastry [fresh avocado w/ cilantro salsa fresca] with Tommy Bahama Millionaire Mango Mojito. The first menu is $50 a head and seats at 6pm, and the second one is $75 a head and seats at 8:30pm. In our opinion, the first menu is superior because it has Mango Crepes Flambé w/ Coconut Ice Cream with Mount Gay Eclipse Barbados Rum Punch for desert, and the second menu doesn’t. To make reservations you can call (215) 751-0404.

Also the next day, Rum Bar is throwing a party called Rum on the River: Cane Spirits Festival at Octo with 25 different brands of rum, samba music and the third annual Mojito Olympics (sounds/is dangerous).
